Snowy Christmas

Snow and chilly temperatures expected for Christmas in P.A. and surrounding areas

Dec 20, 2021 | 12:00 PM

It’s going to be quite a chilly Christmas for those in Prince Albert and surrounding areas.

According to Environment Canada, the temperature is expected to hit a high of -25 C for the upcoming holiday season.

This is twice as cold as the yearly average for this time.

“If you’re planning on doing any outdoor activities dress quite warm and prepare to take some breaks, spending most of your time inside,” said Robyn Dyck, Meteorologist with Environment Canada.

Unsurprisingly, Dyck told paNOW it’s also going to be a white Christmas.

“We do have snow on the ground now and a couple of other chances before Christmas we’ll get some more snow.”

The first chance for snow will happen on Tuesday. Dyck notes the southern part of the province will be impacted more by this snowfall.

Santa Claus will also have to deal with some added snow as it’s also being forecasted for Christmas Eve, lasting overnight into Christmas morning.

Dyck added most communities across northern Saskatchewan should get a new sheet of snow for the holidays, though the most should be around 4 cm.
