RCMP investigate alleged child luring incident in Birch Hills

Dec 15, 2021 | 8:00 AM

Melfort RCMP are investigating a report of suspicious persons in the Town of Birch Hills.

On Dec. 10 shortly before 3:30 p.m., the complainant reported that two adults in a navy blue cube van approached a child pedestrian.

The individuals then reportedly asked the child to get in the vehicle, but the child ran home and police were immediately called.

Community patrols and neighbourhood inquiries were conducted by police officers but the blue van and the two individuals were not located. According to the mother’s post on social media, her son was approached while walking home from school.
