Raiders sign second rounder Tansem
Another member of the Prince Albert Raiders’ most recent draft class has signed on with the team. After announcing earlier this week they had agreed to terms with forward Cole Peardon, the team announced today they’d signed defenseman Seth Tansem.
Tansem, a 5-11, 160 lb defenseman from Kelowna, B.C., was the Raiders second pick of the second round and 43rd overall in the prospect’s draft on Dec. 9. He plays for RHA Kelowna’s U18 team.
“He excels as a puck-moving power-play specialist,” said Raiders director of Player Personnel Bruno Zarrillo. “We are excited to add him to our group as he will help our transition from defence to offence.”
Offence does indeed seem to be Tansem’s calling card. With three goals and 19 assists in just 16 games, he not only leads his team in assists and in scoring by a defenseman, he’s second on the team in points overall. He’s also sixth in points by a defenseman in the entire CSSHL U18 ranks.
