Celtics soccer teams make triumphant return to tournament play

Dec 13, 2021 | 3:00 PM

For the first time in 21 months, the Prince Albert Celtic soccer teams (PAYSA) had the opportunity to compete at an actual tournament and they left a big impression.

There were teams from Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta in attendance at Regina’s FC Cup. PAYSA was represented by nine teams, and brought home three gold medals (U17 boys, U15 boys and U13 girls) and two silver medals (U15 girls and U13 boys).

Overall, the teams had 25 wins, four ties and only five defeats.

There was no score tracking or medals awarded in the U11 girls and the U9 boys, but in both categories Celtic teams had the best results too.
