Active COVID-19 cases drop below 700 for first time since Aug. 11

For the first time since the summer, active COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan have fallen below the 700-threshold. After 70 new cases and 96 recoveries were reported in Sunday’s provincial update, there are now 696 active cases in the province. There haven’t been fewer than 700 active cases in Saskatchewan since Aug. 11, when there were 682.

Out of the 70 new cases, just 15 of them are in the North and Far North zones, with 10 in the North Central zone and five in the North West. The North East, and all three Far North zones did not report any new cases.

Hospitalizations increased by two to 132.

NITHA Numbers

There are no new cases to report today in Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA)

communities.

There are 10 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.

These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 0; Far North West, four; Far North East, five; North Central, one; and North East, 0; 6,854 cases (99 per cent) have recovered, and one person is hospitalized.
