TeleMiracle 46 talent lineup features numerous Prince Albert and area performers

Dec 4, 2021 | 11:00 AM

The performers for the upcoming TeleMiracle 46 have been announced and the talent pool features plenty of local community members.

From March 5-6 next year, Saskatchewan talent will be on full display for the province during the telethon.

The acts will be featured during the pre-show, the main show, and the overnight segment making it a 20-hour telethon that will be broadcast live on CTV in Saskatchewan and live-streamed from TeleMiracle’s website.

It will begin at 9 p.m. Saturday, March 5 and end at 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 6. The “Countdown to TeleMiracle” will be broadcasted on March 5 at 6:15 p.m.

Nutrien has agreed to match all donations raised by the TeleMiracle performers up to $100,000.

Among Prince Albert and area performers include the Birch Hills Dance Centre, Maurice Villeneuve, Mike and Darcy, the Performing Arts Warehouse, and Sarah Constant. All of whom will be playing in the main show.

Mike Langlois of Mike and Darcy told paNOW they’re an easy listening duo who have been recording their music through an app during the pandemic. This allows them to play multiple instruments and send the audio back and forth to each other

This will be their second time performing a pre-recorded show, however, last year they were in the preshow and this year have earned a spot in the main show.

“Listening to us on pre-recorded is actually better than when you hear us live because we can play bass and drums and more pianos and Darcy’s playing some trumpets and all kinds of stuff,” Langlois said. “Whereas when we’re a live duo, it’s just me on the guitar and Darcy on the piano.”

Maurice Villeneuve, who is a local country music artist in Prince Albert will be playing in the second TeleMiracle of his career.

He explained he was really pleased to be asked to be a part of the main show this year.

“I’ve been trying for years to be on the show, and I was glad to be on it last year and to be asked again is double,” he said.

His show performance will also be pre-recorded and will be playing Merle Haggard’s song Working Man Blues.

“I’ve been singing country music all my life and Merle Haggard was a big influence on me,” he added.

The full list of performers and their hometowns is posted on the TeleMiracle website.
