Total active COVID-19 cases continue to drop as four deaths and 121 new cases reported

The provincial government has reported another 121 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 today; 86 among unvaccinated individuals, including 47 in children between the ages of 0-11.

Of the new cases, 35 have been identified in Northern Saskatchewan; Far North West (seven), Far North East (two), North West (15), and North Central (11).

Four new deaths were reported today bringing the total to 878 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 who have died.

There are currently 1,374 cases considered active across the province, 384 of which are located in Northern Saskatchewan zones. This is a drop of 50 total cases across the province and 18 cases in northern zones compared to yesterday.

Almost two-fifths (38.8 per cent) of new cases are in the age category of 11 years or under.

About two-fifths (41.9 per cent) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated.

There has been 79,030 cases confirmed since the pandemic began, including 19,313 cases are from the North area (8,582 North West, 7,928 North Central, 2,803 North East).

As of Nov. 10, a total of 187 are hospitalized, including 135 inpatient hospitalizations and 52 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 187 patients, 118 (63.1 per cent) were not fully vaccinated.

In addition to Sask. ICU counts, there are 14 residents in out of province ICUs. As these patients are receiving care out of province, this number is not included in the hospitalization counts in the dashboard. Since yesterday’s report, there has been one repatriation.

There has been 1,691,524 total vaccine doses delivered since the start of vaccine delivery. There are now 812,978 fully vaccinated residents in the province. In addition, there has also been 77,197 additional vaccines that have been administered as of Nov. 9.

NITHA numbers

The Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA) reported two new cases in NITHA communities; one (50 per cent) were unvaccinated and one (50 per cent) that are fully vaccinated.

There are 64 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.

These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 0; Far North West, 17; Far North East, eight; North Central, 34; and North East, five. There have been 6772 cases (98 per cent) that have recovered, and seven people are being hospitalized.
