Six more COVID-19 deaths reported in province, 157 new cases

COVID-19 deaths in Saskatchewan continue to rise, as six more were reported during the provincial government’s Sunday update. That makes 21 deaths in the past seven days, and 872 total since the pandemic began.

Hospitalizations reduced by eight, as there are now 191 people in hospital, 47 of which are in intensive care.

Out of the 157 new cases, 31 are in the North Central zone, 15 in North West and four in North East. In the three Far North zones, there is only one new case to report—in the Far North West zone.

NITHA numbers

There are 12 new cases to report today in Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA) communities, nine (75 per cent) were unvaccinated and two (17 per cent) are partially vaccinated, and one (8 per cent) that are fully vaccinated.

There are 82 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), zero; Far North West, 21; Far North East, 15; North Central, 40; and North East, six, 6,757 cases (98 per cent) have recovered, and four people are hospitalized.
