After slow start to season, Bears starting to heat up after big win over Gold Wings

The Prince Albert Northern Bears are back in the winner’s circle after a decisive 5-1 win over the Weyburn Gold Wings Saturday at the Art Hauser Centre.

Five different Bears scored in the contest, with Erin Kirkland getting the first and Julia Cey eventually scoring the game-winner. Both goals were on the power play.

Sasha Malenfant, Brooklin Fry and Jasmine Kohl all scored for the Bears in the third period.

After a 0-4 start, the Bears have since gone 3-1 as they have started to gel. The Bears will be on the road in Wilcox on Nov. 13-14 for a two-game set against the Notre Dame Hounds.
