Whether you’re a wine newbie or a whiskey aficionado, one thing unites us: We all love a good deal.

Now, you can find your favorite bottle with a better bang for your buck.

Discount Liquor is Prince Albert’s newest independent liquor store stocking their shelves with rare wines, artisanal liquors and other locally produced spirits allowing you to become more educated and selective about what you drink or simply content knowing you’re paying less for your favourite bevvy.

“Our selection in terms of industry standards is full, but at the same time, we recognize here in Prince Albert that it’s a unique market – so, we’ve tried to offer the most common choices to our customers that every consumer would want, but also the specialty items people are interested in,” said Michael Rossetti, manager of Discount Liquor in Prince Albert.

Part of the advantage of being a privately run liquor store is they aren’t dictated corporately on what they can offer customers.

“If we see that one-off item that is really cool and there’s been some customer interest, we just bring it in,” Rossetti said. “We engage directly with our customers and one of the objectives is we want to know what they’re looking for. For example, a woman looked everywhere for Cherry Brandy and couldn’t find it – but we had it for her.”

They also carry a full selection of made in Saskatchewan products.

Whether you’re a regular rum drinker or a connoisseur who can appreciate the specialty of a rare rum, Discount Liquor either has what you want, or they’ll get it for you – all at a discounted price.

“We decided when we were going to expand from a beer store that we wanted to be price leaders and we wanted to offer our customers fair value for their hard-earned money.

“The objective is to always be lower than our competitors.”

And that’s why Rossetti said its worth making the trip to their store adjacent to the Best Western Premier Hotel behind Canadian Tire in Prince Albert. It’s a ‘little off the beaten path’ but the customer service and value pricing make the extra few minutes to get there worth it.

Discount Liquor offers a drive thru service meaning customers who made a personal choice not to get vaccinated won’t be excluded from their store. They are open from noon until midnight seven days a week.
