HAUNTED HOME

Haunted house on 15th Ave East not happening this Halloween

Oct 22, 2021 | 1:00 PM

For the second straight year a spooky attraction in Prince Albert won’t be taking place this Halloween.

Every year, hundreds of trick-or-treaters have flocked to a home on 15th Ave. East, not just for candy, but to marvel in the massive Halloween display.

Everything from blow up ghouls and goblins to pumpkins, red-eye skulls and statues of the wolfman blanket the home on Oct. 31.

Dennis Adams owns the property and while he was hoping to bring the spectacle back this year, sadly he said due to COVID it just wasn’t safe.

“Two years ago, we had over 1,800 kids come to our house for trick-or-treating, so it just really congested. Just want to keep everyone safe. Hopefully, when things change, we’ll be back up again.”

This is the second straight year Adams won’t have the massive decorations on his house after COVID also forced him to cancel those plans. He said it is unfortunate to not offer the display to kids in the neighbourhood but thankfully, the house will be lit up for another holiday.

“We’ve done it for quite a few years so hopefully it will be back up. We do our Christmas display which is much bigger, that will definitely be up.”

As of Friday, no specific guidelines for Halloween have been given by the province or the City of Prince Albert. The city has released posters for homeowners to hang on their doors indicating if they are or are not open for trick or treating.
