RCMP searching for missing boaters at Wollaston Lake

Oct 15, 2021 | 4:00 PM

RCMP, with the assistance of community volunteers and the Canadian Rangers are scouring the Wollaston Lake area for three missing boaters.

On Wednesday, at approximately 5 p.m., RCMP received a complaint of three overdue boaters, two males and one female.

One male boater left Wollaston Lake at approximately 12:30 p.m. to pick up the other male and the female at the barge landing. They were expected to return about two and a half hours later, but did not arrive.

The boat they were presumed to be in has now been located on Wollaston Lake. Additional Saskatchewan RCMP resources, as well as a Canadian Forces plane, are being deployed to Wollaston Lake to assist with the search.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the boaters is asked to call the Wollaston Lake RCMP. Family members told paNOW the boaters have children who have been asking where their parents are.
