GAME NIGHT

Raiders look for first win of the year against Moose Jaw

Oct 13, 2021 | 4:00 PM

A fresh face and a returning presence on the blue line could propel the Prince Albert Raiders to their first win of the season on Wednesday night.

The team is in Moose Jaw for the first game of a home-and-home series against the Warriors.

The Raiders are 0–4 so far on the season, with their last game ending in a 8–0 loss to the Winnipeg ICE. Ronin Geraghty made his Raiders debut in the game, stopping 26 shots.

Newly acquired forward Sloan Stanick could make his Raiders debut after joining the team through a trade with Regina for defenseman Adam McNutt on Tuesday.

Stanick has four points in five games this year, including his two goals against the Raiders on Oct. 2.

Meanwhile, defenceman Kaiden Guhle could also see some action after he was returned to the Raiders by the Montreal Canadiens on Monday afternoon. Guhle was selected 16th overall in the 2020 NHL Draft by the Canadiens. Last season, he was limited to two games with the Raiders in the Hub Centre due to injury.

The Raiders and Warriors played four times last season, splitting the series two wins apiece. The final game was on Apr. 19, 2021, a 5–2 loss for the Raiders in Moose Jaw.

The Raiders will close out the home-and-home series with the Warriors on Friday night at the Art Hauser Centre in Prince Albert.

Puck drop for Wednesday night’s game is at 7:00 p.m. with pregame starting at 6:30 on 900 CKBI.
