Prince Albert Catholic School Division reports more COVID cases in schools

Sep 17, 2021 | 5:32 PM

The Prince Albert Catholic School Division, (PACSD) is reporting more positive cases of COVID-19 in schools.

The school division said two new cases were identified at École St. Mary High School on Thursday and Friday and another case was identified at St. John School, also on Friday.

The division said that these cases were likely not acquired at the schools.

The PACSD said that with the rise in case rates and state of vaccination rates in the province, school families are encouraged to consider all the layers of protection.

“Students under 12 are not eligible for vaccination, therefore our community needs to do what it can to protect our youth,” the PACSD said in a release. “Layers of protection are effective.”

The division said in-person classes will continue while maintaining current safety protocols.

Drive-thru testing is available at the Cone Shop, at the corner of Ninth St. and Sixth Ave. E., Prince Albert. The testing site is open seven days a week, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If you are unable to use the drive-thru testing site, call 811 for other testing options.
