Parkland Ambulance responds to 120 weekend incidents
It was a busy weekend for Parkland Ambulance paramedics. By noon on Sunday, they had responded to 120 calls for service including a few accidents that led to significant injury.
On Saturday night around 9:30 p.m., paramedics responded to the Shellbrook area for a 41-year old man with serious injuries from a farming accident. He was taken to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon where he remains in good and stable condition. Also on Saturday, Parkland Ambulance were called out to the Lakeland area where a 70-year-old man had injured his hand while splitting logs with a hydraulic splitter. He too was taken to hospital in Saskatoon.
Among other calls was a two vehicle collision on Highway 3 west near Crutwell. Paramedics cared for a 67-year old man, a 10-year old boy and an 11-year old boy with injuries. All were taken to the local hospital in good condition.
A seven-year old child was struck by a vehicle on Friday evening in the 200 block of 32nd Street West, but paramedics reported there were no injuries.
