Concerts and cirque shows: Preview of winter season at the EA Rawlinson Centre

Sep 10, 2021 | 5:00 PM

Next week the EA Rawlinson Centre for the Arts will be hosting an in person season launch celebration.

The event will be on Wednesday, Sept. 15 with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The event is also free to attend, and there will be live entertainment as well.

“We have programming scheduled from the beginning of October to June next year,” Cara Stelmaschuk, events coordinator told paNOW. “There is going to be more than 22 performances that people can make plans to attend.”

The season will be available to people at a discount, for those who wish to attend all events. A build-your-season option will be available for groupings of 6, 8, 10, or 12 select shows when purchased all at once.

“People who plan ahead can save a little bit of money,” Stelmaschuk added.

The live entertainment next week will feature music from Kiefer Paul and Amanda Goller. They play mostly country music, and have a sound that is classical and unique.

While the full schedule cannot be released yet, there are a few sneak peeks for key dates for people to mark down on their calendars.

On Oct. 2, The North Sound will take the stage.

“They are an aboriginal country duo, and they are so good,” Stelmaschuk said.

Nov. 4 will see The Washboard Union playing at the Rawlinson.

Stelmaschuk added that over the winter there will be many concerts, but something new this year as well.

“We are bringing in an acrobatic troupe, they will be here in April,” she added. “That will be completely different, and we are hoping it will be well received. They are called ‘The Barely Methodical Troupe’, and will bringing a show called ‘Bromance’.

Also, she added throughout the season beginning on Oct. 20 there will be three different shows that are meant for kids.

“That series will start with Singing with Silvia,” Stelmaschuk said.

Due to Prince Albert’s recent mask mandate, masks will be required for all visitors to the EA Rawlinson Centre.

There will still be snacks available in the lobby before the presentation on Wednesday, provided by My Place Bistro and Catering. Masks will not be required when or drinking or eating, but will be mandatory at all other times.
