MELFORT, Sask. – One of Canada’s top agriculture shows returns this fall.

Farmfair International in Edmonton, Alta. has the largest cattle show prize purse in the country.

Show director Leah Jones said registration is now open for beef shows with $300,000 in prizes.

“Farmfair provides an exceptional and vital business platform and connection for producers, commercial cattlemen and industry stakeholders in the beef industry,” Jones said in a media release.

Jones said in addition to the beef shows there are other events including the stock dog trials and the Heritage Ranch Rodeo.

Farmfair International is at the Edmonton EXPO Centre Nov. 10 to 13.

A 4-H Alberta program is expanding.

In partnership with the Chartered Professional Accountants Education Foundation (CPA Education Foundation), 4-H Alberta has announced the next level of the newly developed entrepreneurial program.

The program launched as a very successful pilot in the spring of 2021, inviting 4-H Alberta members to discover their inner entrepreneur while providing them with the basic knowledge to start and build their own business.

CPA Education Foundation will double its funding to allow the program to grow into a provincial, project-based learning opportunity that will launch on Oct. 1.

4-H Alberta Chief Executive Officer Kurt Kinnear said the new club year will begin soon.

“We look forward to helping our young members to become future community leaders while teaming up with strong partners like the CPA Education Foundation,” Kinnear said.
