P.A. bank to re-open next week after COVID case

Sep 3, 2021 | 3:22 PM

The Scotiabank branch on 15th Street East in Prince Albert will remain closed until after the long weekend.

It has been shut since an individual tested positive for COVID-19.

A corporate spokesperson told paNOW the health and safety of their employees and customers is their top priority and they are following guidance from public health officials. It is understood that includes deep cleaning measures.

The bank is set to reopen Tuesday, Sept. 7.

Earlier this week regular customers found a sign on the door showing it was not open for business and an automated message on the bank’s phone said ‘closed due to unforeseen circumstances.’

The branch is Scotiabank’s only one in Prince Albert.

Meanwhile, with increasing COVID numbers across the province there are currently 11 businesses or facilities in Prince Albert currently listed on the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s list of active COVID outbreaks. These are instances where two or more people have tested positive for the virus.

Outbreaks remain listed until officially declared over by an SHA Medical Health Officer.
