Although Prince Albert has experienced plenty of rain this week, and saw a storm on Tuesday night, that has not stopped people from going out and golfing.

Some have had a great week on the course including Brian Kit, a 61-year-old out of Red Deer, Alta who hit a hole-in-one at Kachur’s Golf Club on Wednesday.

“I was on hole number 11, it was a 158 yard hole, I took a shot, it bounced twice, and it dropped in the cup,” Kit told paNOW. “My clubs are from the 1960s and I hit it with a five iron.”

Most hole in ones are usually quite memorable, this one will have a lasting impact on the golfer as the conditions were not ideal.

“It was thundering, lightning, and raining,” Kit said.

He also has been golfing for about 30 years, but has only been out 10 times.

Kachur’s Golf Club supplied him with a trophy for the great shot.

“His was pretty funny because of the thunder, lightning, and rain,” said Patty Kachur, owner of the golf course. “We gave him a little hole in one trophy, the trophy is in the shape of a one and has the golf ball inside.

“He was super excited.”

The shot will be quite memorable for the golf course as well as they say they see less than five hole in one’s per year.

The golf season at Kachur’s will not be ending this month. Unless it snows, they will be open until October 17.
