Prince Albert and District Chamber of Commerce looks for new CEO

Aug 26, 2021 | 5:00 PM

The Prince Albert and District Chamber of Commerce has parted ways with their now former CEO, Elise Hildebrandt.

In a short media release early Thursday, the chamber’s chair, Tracy Feher, said as of today ” Elise Hildebrandt is no longer employed with the Prince Albert and District Chamber of Commerce.”

No reason was given for Hildebrandt’s departure.

Speaking to paNOW, Feher said:

“The separation of Elise from the Chamber of Commerce has just happened and at this point there is no person replacing her. We will enter into that process when we figure out what we are going to do going forward.”

Hildebrandt was the CEO of the Chamber since June 2018.

The separation between the chamber and Hildebrandt is confidential at this time.

“The board of directors feels it is important for the public to know that we are committed to providing service to our members and we will begin our search for our next CEO shortly,” Feher explained.

paNOW reached out to Hildebrandt but she chose not to offer comment at this stage.

While the Chamber is looking for a new CEO, any projects that Elise was involved in will now be referred to Donna Barr, an employee of the chamber.

“Our plans as a board have not changed,” Feher said. “The projects that are currently on the books are continuing. Donna is perfectly capable of taking care of those.

“What will change for a little while is that we are going to be looking for a new CEO. That will be one of the focuses for us in the near future. Everything else is status-quo as it has been. Nothing else has changed.”

Members of the Chamber of Commerce voted for new board members in May. These positions will become effective at the chamber AGM on Sept. 21.
