Woman’s death in Prince Albert confirmed as homicide investigation

Prince Albert police now confirming a woman’s death in the city earlier this month, is being treated as a homicide.

In the early morning hours of Aug. 5, Doris Broussie, 40, was found at a business in the 3600 block of second Ave. W. She was assessed by paramedics and later transported to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. Two days later she was declared deceased by medical staff.

The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and Forensics Identification Section of the Prince Albert Police Service continue to investigate. No arrests have been made.

Anyone who witnessed this assault or has information about this file is asked to contact the city’s police service or Crime Stoppers.

According to Broussie’s obituary, she was living in Prince Albert at the time of her death, but was formerly from Black Lake.

The wake and funeral services were held over the weekend in Black Lake.

Broussie’s death marks the city’s sixth homicide investigation this year.
