Two P.A. Northern Bears players invited to camp for chance to represent Saskatchewan
A pair of local hockey players will get an opportunity to battle for a spot to represent their province on the ice this fall.
This week Shell Lake’s Brooklin Fry and Prince Albert’s Jazlyn Petreman, who both play for the Prince Albert Northern Bears, were named as two of 27 girls who are invited to Sask. First Female Under-18 Fall Camp.
Those 27 players will compete in camp from Sept. 23 to 26 for a chance to be one of 20 players who will be named to the final roster of Team Saskatchewan for the 2021 National Women’s U18 Championship in October. After the camp in September, six more players will be cut from the team.
Fry told paNOW this could potentially be the first time she will represent Saskatchewan. She made the U16 team last year but because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the camp was cancelled. Fry said it was exciting to find out she’s got invited to this year’s U18 camp.
