STARS announcing winner of 2021 Lottery

STARS Air Ambulance wrapped up their tenth edition of the 2021 STARS Lottery.

According to a STARS media release, the lottery featured 2,061 prizes valued at over $4.2 million, “including luxury vehicles, epic vacations, cash, and two stunning, fully-furnished dream homes worth more than $1.5 million each,” and an early bird Ultimate Outdoor Adventure package and Saskatchewan’s largest 50/50 ever.

This is not Brian Rushton of Saskatoon first time supporting STARS Lottery with previously winning a home appliance prize. This year, he took home the early bird prize worth more than $339,000.

The STARS organization is close to Rushton and his family’s hearts as STARS helped a family member just a few weeks ago.

“We appreciate STARS and all the work they do. We stand behind STARS big time,” he said in the release.

Dodsland resident Tom Joyce won the Regina-area dream home.

“This is unbelievable. I’ve dreamt about this…You’ve made my day. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

Melville’s Angie Rogalski had to catch her breath from the excitement and emotion of hearing the news that she won the Lucky STARS 50/50 payout of nearly $1.5 million cash.

“We always buy the tickets because we think ‘You never know when we might need STARS,’” she said.

This year’s lottery broke records to net more than $5 million for the charitable organization.

“STARS Lottery has always been our largest fundraiser, but its importance to our operations has grown during these challenging times,” said Terri Strunk, STARS Chief Fundraising and Brand Officer. “We’re grateful to our allies for making this our most successful lottery ever.

“We congratulate all the winners, and we can’t thank the people of Saskatchewan enough for their support. Together, we will continue to fight for the lives of people in need across this great province.”

Top prize winners include:

• $1.6 million Saskatoon-area dream home – Terry Busa, Saskatoon
• $1.5 million Regina-area dream home – Tom Joyce, Dodsland
• LUCKY STARS 50/50 payout of nearly $1.5 million cash – Angie Rogalski, Melville
• Early Bird Ultimate Outdoor Adventure Package – Brian Rushton, Saskatoon
