Raiders sign new goaltender Chayka

Tikhon Chayka has signed on the dotted line with the Prince Albert Raiders.

The 2003-born goaltender from Belarus signed a WHL Standard Player Agreement with the Raiders, after the Raiders drafted him 53rd overall in last Wednesday’s CHL Import Draft.

Chayka was Belarus’ top goaltender at the U18 level, as he picked up a pair of wins in three contests at the 2021 IIHF U18 World Championship in Frisco, Texas, while also posting a 2.67 goals-against average and 0.911 save percentage.

During the regular season in Belarus’ second-tier professional league Extraliga B, Chayka had a 3.60 goals-against average and 0.870 save percentage in 29 appearances Team Belarus U18.
