Free Fishing weekend to take place this week in Saskatchewan

Those looking to go fishing this summer in Saskatchewan will have an opportunity sooner rather than later.

According to a media release, the Government of Saskatchewan has announced the 2021 Summer Free Fishing Weekend will start this weekend on July 10 and 11.

On the weekend, Saskatchewan residents will be free to fish in any public waters with no license required.

“I am always amazed at the diverse angling opportunities we have here in Saskatchewan,” environment minister Warren Kaeding said.

The Free Fishing Weekend does not apply in any national parks and all catch limits and size regulations remain in place.
