Parkland Ambulance sees high heat related numbers to end the month.

Parkland Ambulance saw a significant increase in incidents during the last week of June with many related to the extreme heat.

According to a media release, paramedics saw two 24 [hour] periods with incidents in excess of 60 each. That is a significant increase in ambulance responses.

As for the new month, as of Sunday morning at 7 a.m. they responded to 118 incidents. On July 2 paramedics attended two incidents including a two vehicle collision on highway 55 near Little Red River Park. No injuries were reported. The second call they responded to was a quad incident in Christopher Lake which resulted in no injuries.

On July 3 they responded to a vehicle versus wildlife collision. This happened 20 kilometres north of Meath Park on Highway 120.
