Benefit concert for local fire departments after Cloverdale Fire
Volunteer fire departments in the area are being recognized for their hard work fighting the Cloverdale Fire that burned northeast of Prince Albert in May.
On July 8 to 12 in Meath Park, Jeep Saskatchewan is putting on their third annual Jeepfest. However, this year will be different as organizers added a special event on July 10 called Band Aid, which will be a benefit concert to go towards helping the volunteer fire departments in Garden River and Buckland who helped fight the Cloverdale Fire. They will also donate to the Prince Albert Safe Shelter.
Event organizer James Babcock told paNOW there will be 13 bands playing in the show including country music star Dan Davidson.
“We have friends that are actually in the area that were involved in the fires … We really wanted to give back because after this fire they really learned the extra funding the volunteer fire department really needed after this fire. It was really shocking to them on how much they were lacking in equipment,” he said.
