A number of Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division (SRPSD) students and staff will need to spend their first week of summer vacation self-isolating.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority confirmed a case of the virus in King George Public School so those associated with a Grade 3/4 classroom will be required to self isolate until midnight on July 7.

A media release from the SRPSD said a case was also confirmed at École Vickers Public School so 11 students in the 6E classroom will be required to self-isolate until midnight on July 9. The rest of the students in that classroom, along with students in 6F were declared non-close contacts and don’t have to isolate as long as they remain symptom free.

One case of COVID-19 was also identified in someone at Carlton Comprehensive Public High School but the SRPSD said the students and staff in the two Grade 9 classes will only need to self monitor for symptoms.
