P.A. Historical Society holding yard sale to raise funds for Nisbet Church and Blockhouse

Jun 26, 2021 | 8:00 AM

The Prince Albert Historical Society will be holding a yard sale today to raise funds for the reconstruction of the Nisbet Church and Blockhouse, which will be constructed on the west side of the Historical Museum.

Michelle Taylor, manager and curator for the Prince Albert Historical Society, explained the two buildings were removed from Kinsmen Park in 2019.

“We were asked to take both the buildings down and the salvageable logs have been stored. We’re just trying to get some more money together to help put up both buildings,” she said.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the museum, those interested can buy books, school textbooks, household items, and refurbished radios among other things. This fundraiser is a continuation of the sidewalk sale they had downtown recently and they’re hoping to sell all the items rather than meet a numerical goal.
