Notice Nature to encourage youth to get active outside
The North Saskatchewan River Basin Council announced on Wednesday they are launching an initiative to encourage youth to engage more with nature in Prince Albert, Lloydminster, North Battleford, and various rural communities in Saskatchewan.
Notice Nature is a bingo-style game where participants can progress through the game by accomplishing challenges out in nature like going for a short hike, fishing, or finding various signs of animals. There are 19 total cards, and each one submitted will count as one entry to the prize draw. Cards can be submitted to any Lakeland or Wapiti regional library. Prize draws will follow the event’s deadline of Sept. 15.
“Kids have really shown such resilience and adaptability this year. We wanted to create an initiative that was fun, educational, got kids outside and connecting with their natural environment, all while rewarding their efforts with fun prizes,” their North Saskatchewan River Basin Council said Wednesday in a statement.
