A 29-year-old woman from La Ronge is being remembered for her passion for photography, love of nature, and ability to make others smile.

Natasha Ross was found unresponsive when police and paramedics arrived at a West Hill residence on May 24. She was soon after pronounced deceased and days later, police confirmed they were treating the case as a homicide. Ross’s younger sister Victoria Levvit (Ross) told paNOW her sister was visiting the city and the family does not know who she was with.

“I never wish the pain and loss of a sibling among anyone, and I’ll never stop spreading her name until justice is served,” Levvit said.

Ross attended school at Senator Myles Venne in Air Ronge, and had aspirations one day of being a carpenter. Sadly, she also leaves behind a six-year-old son.

“Her life was stolen. She didn’t get to graduate or get married, and that angers me,” Levvit said.

In addition to watching her favourite shows (Grey’s Anatomy and Shameless) on Netflix, Levvitt explained her sister also loved getting her photos taken and taking photos.

“She was a very photogenic and beautiful sister,” she said, adding her sister also loved the outdoors, namely anything to do with fishing, boating, driving ATVs, or just spending time with family and friends.

Reflecting back on her own favourite memories of her sister, Levvit said she will miss the times when they were young, catching dragonflies down by the lake, or in more recent years, meeting up for coffee in Yorkton and going to the Gallagher Centre to talk and just be by nature

“Just growing up with her was a blessing and gift she really did do a good job at being my big sister, always protecting me and teaching me the right from wrong. I’m really just going to miss our drives and talks. She’s the only person who could make me laugh till I cried,” Levvit said.

Ross’s funeral was held May 29 in La Ronge. Members with the Criminal Investigations Division of the Prince Albert Police Service continue to investigate. As of Wednesday afternoon, no charges have been laid.
