Residents in Prince Albert will be happy to know the Kinsmen Water Park will open to the public for the 2021 season on June 4. The park will be open until August 22.

All of the features, including waterslides, tot pool, hot tub, and the main Junior Olympic-sized pool, are scheduled to be in operation.

There will be a 100-person capacity for public swimming and a 12-person capacity for lane swimming. All swim times need to be booked in advance online.

The daily times for public swimming at the water park will be 12:30–2:00 p.m. and 3:00–4:30 p.m. The park will also be open to the public from 5:30-7:00 p.m. from June 4–7.

Lane swim times will be 6:00–7:30 a.m., 8:00–9:30 a.m. and 10:00–11:30 a.m. daily. Registration fees are $6.50 a person.

After hours private rentals will be available starting June 8 when the entire facility can be booked from 5:30–7:00 p.m. for up to 100 people.

The breaks between times will be for health and safety measures at the water park, sport and recreation manager Curtis Olsen said.

“The hour breaks will allow us to move people out and do our cleanings and start bringing people in for that next time,” Olsen said.

Public and lane swimming registration for June 4–12 will be available online and will begin Monday, May 31 at 9:00 a.m. with phone registration beginning at 12:00 p.m. at 306-953-4835.

Registration for after-hours park rentals from June 8–26 will begin on May 31 and will be online beginning at 12:00 p.m. Rental fee is $325.

Summer swimming lessons are being reviewed based on SHA guidelines, with an update expected in June.

Social distancing will also be in place at the water park.

“Our lines up at the gate and at slides, we will make sure people social distance,” Olsen said.
