MELFORT, Sask. – It was a quiet week for the Saskatchewan feeder cattle markets.

Most steer weight classes were unchanged to $2 per hundredweight higher.

The biggest price improvement was in the 400-to-500 and 800-to-900-pound weight categories.

Heifers were relatively unchanged. The only category reporting movement was the 300-to-400-pound heifers with a drop of more than $11 per hundredweight.

Canfax reported roughly 10,700 head of feeder cattle were sold in Saskatchewan last week, slightly below the previous week’s total.

Corteva Agriscience and BASF Canada Agricultural Solutions (BASF) have announced a collaboration on weed control of soybeans.

The companies are recommending the combined use of Liberty® 200 SN and Enlist 1® herbicides on Enlist E3 soybean acres.

BASF and Corteva Agriscience recommend farmers use a program approach for Enlist E3 soybeans that includes starting with residual herbicides, followed by a post-emergent herbicide program.

The combination is effective on weeds like Waterhemp and Canada fleabane, that are now glyphosate resistant in many soybean fields. Farmers can access improved weed control while helping sustain the long-term efficacy of both herbicides.
