Raiders look to replicate high energy in night matchup against the Warriors

Apr 19, 2021 | 12:00 PM

After a brash and spirited performance on Sunday, the Prince Albert Raiders will look to find a similar energy when they take on the Moose Jaw Warriors tonight. The puck will drop shortly after 8 p.m. Tune in to CKBI to listen to Trevor Redden’s call of the game.

The Raiders are 2-0-1 against the Warriors so far this year. They fell 2-1 in overtime on March 14 to the Warriors, their second game of the season, before winning the Mach 27 rematch 5-2 and getting a 45-save shutout from Max Paddock in a 2-0 win on April 15.

The Raider goaltenders have been very stingy against the Warriors this season. On top of Paddock’s shutout, Carter Serhyenko played the other two games, posting a .930 save percentage and 1.44 goals against average combined in the pair of contests.

On the Warriors’ side, Daemon Hunt is the top scorer for the Warriors with a goal and an assist. He also took a puck to the face on April 15, and missed most of the second period before returning to the ice.

Rollin’ Nolan

Nolan Allan was ranked 54th overall in the TSN Mid-Season 2021 NHL Draft Rankings, as compiled by Bob McKenzie. That ranking for Allan goes in line from the NHL Central Scouting rankings that have been put out. Allan is a ‘B’ rated prospect for the upcoming draft by NHL Central Scouting, projecting him to be either a second or third round draft choice.

Allan had a goal and three points in 16 games for the Raiders this year. Allan will represent Canada at the U-18 World Championships in Frisco, Texas, starting on April 26. He’s been isolating for the tournament and has ended his season with the Raiders.
