House fire claims child’s life

The RCMP confirmed a structure fire southwest of Prince Albert has claimed a young child’s life.

Shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday morning, fire crews were dispatched to a property in the Rural Municipality (RM) of Duck Lake.

A member of the family told paNOW they lost everything, and have requested privacy. Surrounding community members have been offering donations.

RCMP have not released the age of the child, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
