P.A. weightlifters medal in online nationals

Two Prince Albert weightlifters won national medals last weekend in the comfort of their own gyms.

Mathieu Cyr and Shay Sather both won silver medals in their respective weight classes at the 2021 Canadian Junior Online Weightlifting Championship on Saturday and Sunday.

Cyr, out of the P.A. Olympic Training Center, finished second best in the 102 kg weight class. SaskPro Crossfit’s Shay Sather, won silver in the 109-plus weight class.

Also representing Prince Albert in the virtual national championships were Erica Jacobson and Kaitlyn Anderson from P.A. Olympic, as well as Gracie Huet and Blayze Smith from H/M Fitness, who have made big strides in the year they have started weightlifting.
