Second COVID case at St. John Community School.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) has identified a second positive COVID-19 case in an individual at St. John Community School associated to the previously reported case of March 8.
According to a media release from the P.A. Catholic School Division, communication of the possible exposure has been shared with the specific classroom/cohort, as well as the school community. The SHA is proceeding with their assessment of the situation, and all individuals deemed to be close contacts have been communicated with.
Due to the safety protocols that are in place, St. John Community School will continue classes for all other students and staff. The division received notification that an individual in the school has tested positive for COVID-19 and that this individual was present on March 5, therefore Public Health officials are advising all students and staff to continue to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms daily and not to enter the school if ill.
To protect privacy, we are not able to share or discuss details, the release said, in part. The cohort/individuals impacted by this case, barring any other cases, are required to monitor for symptoms until March 24.
