‘We need to work together to get through this’: virtual event held this weekend to support the public

The Prince Albert Grand Council (PAGC) and Meadow Lake Tribal Council (MLTC) have created a free virtual event this Saturday for the community.

‘All in This Together’ will be a livestream from the Senator Allen Bird Memorial Gym in P.A. from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. featuring comedians, musicians, and motivational speakers.

“Basically, this is an online live streamed concert that we’re doing to support our people, support everybody really,” said one of the event organizers Sheryl Kimbley.

She explained ‘All in This Together’ is the main message because the COVID-19 pandemic has been hard for everyone.

“We feel like this is the perfect time to support our young people, give some entertainment and information about the vaccinations. Just pushing forward the fact that we need to work together to get through this,” Kimbley said.

The event is the first of it’s kind from the PAGC and MLTC and some of the performers include Ethan Bear, Dwight King, Brigette Lacquette, Don Burnstick, and Yvonne St. Germaine.

Those interested will be able to watch the event on the PAGC’s Facebook group page.

Kimbley said they wanted to get as large of a variety of speakers and performers as they could but explained organizing the six-hour livestream has been challenging.

“It has had its challenges, but we have a great team of people here but all work from their different disciplines to make sure that we could pull this off,” she said. “This is open to everybody, anyone can watch, it’s a great family event, and COVID-safe and a great way to spend your Saturday.”
