The Prince Albert Mintos announced on Friday that Danton Danielson has stepped down from his role as the team’s head coach.

In a statement on Friday, Danielson said he made the decision with his family in mind, to spend more time with them in Saskatoon.

“I am extremely grateful to the Mintos organization for the opportunity to live out a coaching dream and lead one of the premier male U18 AAA hockey programs in Canada. This decision is based on family considerations and was made with a heavy heart,” Danielson said in the statement.

Mintos general manager Kalen Wright told paNOW in an email that the search to replace Danielson as head coach will begin “immediately.”
