Rosthern man wins over $1.1 million at VLT in Saskatoon
A Rosthern man is now a millionaire after winning over $1.1 million on the vault breaker jackpot prize in Saskatoon last week.
According to a media release from the Western Canada Lottery Corporation, on Feb. 12 Michael Tokarz won $1,182,437.43 at Sports on Tap in Saskatoon. The grand prize is awarded by the Saskatchewan VLT program.
Tokarz watched each vault breaker icon fall into place until five were lined up in a row indicating he had won the jackpot.
“I hugged my wife – she was playing nearby – and thought, ‘I’m getting a new workshop,’” he said in the release. He will also book a vacation once the pandemic is over, he said.
