Woman in custody after violent tussle with P.A. police officers

A woman is facing four charges of assaulting a police officer after an incident that involved pepper spray, a conductive energy weapon (CEW) and the use of a baton by the suspect.

In a media release, Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) said they were called Saturday afternoon to 32nd Street W. for reports of a woman attempting to block residents from entering, damaging the building and trying to turn off the building’s heating system.

Police said she was uncooperative and assaultive. When back at the station, she’s alleged to have produced a needle, remove the cap and threaten police with it.

Officers tried to disarm the suspect without success so pepper spray and a CEW were deployed. She continued to be combative and managed to grab a baton while in the detention area before damaging a fingerprint machine with it.
