Feb 17, 2021 | 9:05 AM

UPDATE: SRPSD gave an update to the situation at Debden Public School Thursday, Feb.18. It said Public Health’s investigation determined that the students in the affected classrooms do NOT need to self-isolate. Only those with symptoms need to self-isolate and call 811 for further directions. All other students and staff can resume in-person learning after the February break.

Recently, Public Health officials have notified the Saskatchwan Rivers Public School Division (SRPSD) about an individual(s) testing positive for COVID at Debden Public School.

In a media release Tuesday evening, the division said one classroom (students and staff) will be isolating.

There is no clear evidence that the case(s) was/were acquired or transmitted at school and in person learning will safely continue for the rest of the school after the February break.

The school division was informed of positive COVID-19 test results and communication is being shared with the classrooms/cohorts, the connected staff, as well as with the school community.

The learning program will continue remotely only for those students and staff affected while in-person learning will continue for the rest of the school.

Privacy concerns prevent sharing of further details of the case.
