RM of Prince Albert goes mobile

Rate payers in the Rural Municipality (RM) of Prince Albert have a new tool at their disposal to access important information including fire bans, road conditions, and burning permits.

The RM’s new mobile app is now available through the Apple store and Google Play. Reeve Eric Schmalz explained when he was first elected in June 2019, one of the first initiatives was for the RM to upgrade its online presence in the form of its website, and the creation of a new app.

“This is just another way of being open and transparent with our rate payers and keeping them informed of the happenings and the operations within the RM,” he said.

The RM hired Regina based AdSpark Communications to do the work, and the app and the website re-design were part of a package deal worth about $7,600. The website was completed in the summer of 2019. Schmalz said the main reason for the app’s delay, was making sure it was in compliance with Apple’s policies.
