VHF receives $50,000 donation toward NICU expansion
The Victoria Hospital Foundation (VHF) has announced a significant donation they received toward its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for the North campaign.
According to a media release, the Northern Lights Community Development Corporation (NLCDC) donated $50,000 which brings their total to $677,000 of its $2.5 million goal.
“On behalf of the NLCDC and we are proud to invest in the health of our community and in particular, our most fragile newborns born at the Victoria Hospital,” Blake Charles, general manager of NLCDC said in the release. “It is important to us to ensure that babies born in our communities, remain as close to home as possible, while receiving the highest standard of care. Our organization’s goal is to achieve healthy, prosperous and sustainable communities and we are proud to partner with the Victoria Hospital Foundation for such an investment in our future.“
The money raised will be used for new equipment and technology for the expansion of the NICU which will open in the fall.
