Most outdoor rinks in Prince Albert ready for shinny

Dec 23, 2020 | 4:20 PM

After delays, most outdoor rinks in the City of Prince Albert are now operational. Free skating times – at both indoor and outdoor community club rinks – have also been announced.

Outdoor rinks at Crescent Acres, Crescent Heights, Carlton Park, East Hill, Hazeldell, Midtown and Nordale community clubs are open daily, the City of Prince Albert said in media release Thursday.

Availability for indoor natural-ice surfaces at Crescent Heights, East End, East Hill and West Hill will rotate days.

Outdoor ice at East End and West Hill is not available at this time.

“We are pleased that our volunteer-operated Community Clubs have agreed to open up indoors for skating as well as outdoor rinks over the holiday season,” Jody Boulet, director of community services, said in the release. “Please adhere to all of the regulations, stay safe and enjoy some exercise.”

Outdoor rinks are open to the public from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m, Monday to Friday and on weekends from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Skate times at indoor rinks can be viewed here.

Patrons will have to sign-in with rink attendants prior to skating and masks must be worn at all times. All participants are to bring their own water bottle filled at home and hand sanitizer. A full list of rules is available here.

Last week, the city of Prince Albert published a page on its website with a list of amenities and opportunities for families to enjoy over the holidays.
