Adjusted holiday hours at COVID-19 drive-thru testing site

Dec 23, 2020 | 12:25 PM

Prince Albert’s drive-thru testing site will have modified hours over the holiday season.

The option has proven to be a popular one since it opened on Dec. 2 at The Cone Shop Car Wash on Sixth Avenue East. The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) listed the modified hours:

  • December 24: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • December 25: Closed
  • December 26: Closed
  • December 31: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • January 1: Closed

The drive-thru will operate normal hours hours Dec. 27 to 30th. (8:30 am to 4 p.m.)

Drive-thru testing sites are on a first-come, first-served basis and wait times should be expected depending on the demand for services. A referral is not required to access a drive-thru test. You must wear a mask and anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. In your vehicle, everyone should be members of the same, immediate household. You need a valid Health Card or an alternate government-issued form of identification (e.g., driver’s license, passport). Every person in the vehicle who has these documents can be tested.

More than 50 testing sites are open across Saskatchewan for individuals looking to receive a specific appointment time. Appointments are made by referral by calling HealthLine 811, your family physician or nurse practitioner. More information on testing, as well as a self-assessment tool to determine if you need testing, can be found at saskatchewan.ca/COVID-19.
