Elk Ridge Resort has announced it has hired Ryan Wells as the new resort golf professional.

According to an announcement posted on the resort’s website, Wells is originally from Prince Edward Island and will be starting at the resort on March 1, 2021.

“We have acquired Ryan to take our golfing experience to a new level,” managing partner Ryan Danberg said in the announcement. “We are overly excited to have him join our team, and I look forward to working with him.”

Wells began playing golf in P.E.I. where he played at junior and college levels. He turned pro in 2006 and subsequently worked in Invermere, B.C. at the Eagle Ranch Resort for six years.

He then moved to Prince Albert and worked at Cooke Municipal Golf Course for eight years as the associate professional. In 2019 he was awarded the Peter Cushner Order of Merit Award and the 2017 and 2019 Assistant Class “A” PGA of Canada/Saskatchewan.

He spent the last year as the head professional at the Dunes Golf and Winter Club in Grand Prairie, Alta.

“Our Routes2SK group is excited for Ryan’s arrival,” the announcement continued. “His love and passion for the game of golf, along with his overall leadership with exemplary customer service standards, will be a great asset to the Elk Ridge clientele. We look forward to Ryan joining our team on March 1st, 2021. Please join us in welcoming Ryan and his wife, Megan and their two-year-old daughter, Palmer to the Elk Ridge Resort and community.”
