More P.A. schools affected by COVID cases

The Saskatchewan Health Authority has identified a positive COVID-19 case in an individual in two Prince Albert schools: Westview and Wesmor.

In a media release Tuesday night, the Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division said they were informed of these positive COVID-19 test results and communication is being shared with the classrooms/cohorts, the connected staff, as well as with the school community.

The learning program will continue remotely only for those students and staff affected while in-person learning will continue for the rest of the school.

Privacy concerns prevent sharing of further details of the case.

Earlier Tuesday, the Prince Albert Catholic School Division reported COVID-19 cases at two schools – one each at St. Catherine Catholic School and St. John Community School.

In a media release the Prince Albert Catholic School Division said communication of a possible exposure has been shared with specific class/cohort(s), as well as the school community.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is proceeding with their assessment of the situation, and all individuals deemed to be close contacts are being notified. The class/cohort(s), impacted by this case, barring any other cases, are required to Self-Isolate as per Public Health instructions.

The class/cohort(s) will be move to remote learning until the isolation period is complete. These specific class/cohort(s) are advised to contact 811 Healthline for advice.

School will resume December 9, 2020 for all other students and staff that are not deemed to be close contacts
