Midtown stabbing case proceeds to trial

Trial dates have now officially been set in a Prince Albert murder case.

Silas Starblanket will be tried by judge alone next April at Prince Albert Court of Queen’s Bench.

The 20-year-old has been charged with second degree murder in the August, 2019 death of Evander Sanderson.

Sanderson, 19, was stabbed multiple times in the city’s midtown area, and later died in hospital.

A pre-trial hearing on Friday determined there was sufficient evidence for the case to move forward. Two weeks have been set aside for the trial, starting the week of April 19.
