Kids ask Santa for the strangest things

Nov 22, 2020 | 10:00 AM

Just like the rest of 2020, this Christmas will be like none in recent memory. Consumers, restricted both physically and financially by the coronavirus pandemic, are wrought with worry over things like supply shortages and shipping delays. But don’t worry, not every kid wants what’s in high demand.

On the lighter side of news, paNOW asked our readers what the funniest or strangest thing is their children have asked Santa for Christmas. We hope the answers bring a smile to your face like they did ours – a short reprieve from the daily COVID briefings that have caused most of us too much stress for too long.

“One year Jacob asked Santa for an apple. Just a single apple. Santa brought him a bag of apples.” – Miranda

“My son asked for a snowman one year. It was -55 C with the windchill that Christmas Eve.” – Marci

“Troy asked Santa for a ring, so me and his Dad could marry each other. He even cut out a picture from a flyer and glued it in his Christmas book.” – Kyla

“A chainsaw.” – Bill

“A stinkpot turtle.” – Lauren

“$1000 Xbox card.” – Tania

“A six-pack….as in abs.” – Brandon

“Brenna wanted a Schticky about 8 years ago. And got one!” – Barb

“I asked for an electric pencil sharpener when I was younger.” – Veronica

“A toilet paper launcher” – Brie

“A house hippo.” – Val

“A magic box that when opened she would get whatever she wanted. This went on for a few years.” – Lindsey

“When Avery was around 6, she asked everyone for a pencil and a sharpener. Just imagine how many she got!!” – Wendi

“When we asked him what he wanted for Christmas, he was so excited and said, ‘I want a Hoofy Snoof brush!’ He meant a Snoopy toothbrush. It was so cute.” – Darren

“My son Jake wanted ‘Fifty-three-billion-one-thousand-dollars.’” – Steph

Me too Jake. Me too.
